Seamwork’s Bo is a beautiful, simple box tee that can be dressed up or down depending on the fabric and styling. It is a great project for beginners or the perfect palette cleanse after a more advanced project.
I shopped my stash for a long held piece of white linen. I acquired this fabric shortly after my daughter was born. It is a lovely medium weight linen that I was lucky to find on clearance when we still lived far from a substantial fabric store. That makes this fabric 3, almost 4 years old.
Bo has been on my radar FOREVER but i was never quite sure that I would like it as much as others seemed to. It is BIG y’all. After testing a fitted bodice, and tinkering with the fit of a woven tee from McCall’s I knew that I wanted an oversized, slightly cropped blouse. Bo fit the bill. Next it was time to scour the measurements.
I normally need to make a 4-5 inch full bust adjustment (FBA) and grade 1-2 sizes out to accommodate my hips (46) and add a few inches for my height. I used my high bust (37) and made a size 8. Without an FBA it gives a slight high low effect. I added an inch in length.
I love it!
It was like I pulled the top straight out of my imagination. I could not have been happier. After several difficult/tedious projects, I needed this win. What a win it was.
